Hope Extended is our"classroom" program designed especially for school aged children with speech, language, developmental, learning and/or behavior disorders. The goals of this program are determined based on ABLLS Assessments, IEP goals, and essential knowledge and skills. Children enter into specific classrooms based on individual achievement and skills.

Our "teacher" to child ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:2 or 2:3 depending on the skill level of each class, accompanied by teacher aides and additional staff in each room.  Prior to class placement, assessments of your child's development and skills are performed by a clinical psychologist ( by parent request ) in order to ensure entry into the right starting class.

The Hope Extended program offers classroom experience while closely monitoring your child's development.  It offers several different experience levels, grouped by skillflowchart while maintaining a multi-age population.  Our program moves through 3 stages as shown to the left, beginning with the Acquisition Room.  The Acquisition Room is the essential first step for a child in need of classroom skills. It is designed to aid your child in becoming comfortable in a social education setting while working to acquire independence skills. Additionally, individualized programs based on each child's current level of skill and parent goals are implemented.  The second step (first for some children, determined by the placement test) for a child in need of classroom skills is the Transition Room. Once children have learned basic classroom skills and how to independently follow a schedule, they can be moved to the transition room. This room will help prepare them to transition to other types of school settings (public or private) by mastering group skills while increasing independence and decreasing individual monitoring. The Transition Room can also serve as a private classroom for parents who prefer their child in a private setting.

The Hope Extended Program is Ideal For:

Long term placement for children whose parents prefer a private classroom option

Short term placement for children who need to acquire or master classroom readiness skills in order to benefit from a public school setting
